Located on a beautiful ranch just outside Cedar Rapids, Running the Race Horse Ranch (RTR) is a place where lives can be transformed through the love and care of horses. It’s an environment where kids will feel loved, learn new skills, experience success, and grow in their understanding of who God has created them to be.
A variety of day camps and lessons are offered throughout the year, catering to multiple ages. Our caring staff will teach kids everything from how to brush and feed a horse, to how to ride and communicate with this majestic animal.
Running the Race Horse Ranch is for youth who have faced or are currently facing emotional struggles in their life.
Throughout the camp, kids will experience incredible moments while working with and riding horses. They will begin to understand the joy that comes from caring for an animal and the trust that is built between a rider and its horse.
Kids who have faced struggles in life, often need help understanding how to deal with their emotional pain. The Jordan’s and many others have experienced healing by working with animals, specifically horses.
• Caring for horses teaches kids responsibility.
• Learning to ride horses, builds new skills and confidence.
• Developing a relationship with a horse gives kids an avenue
to be themselves, and share a connection unlike many they have
experienced in life.
Running the Race Horse Ranch (RTR) is a peaceful and caring place where kids and horses come together in a healing environment.
The ranch is a safe place where kids are given the opportunity to work with rescued horses. It is our hope that this will foster new life and hope for kids and horses.
